Simplified BF3, Follow-UP (hardcore Gaming)
In BF2 You either were willing to get raped for a few months learning the ways of BF, and work in coordinated teams, or you raged, Smashed your hand to your head, and left never to re turn. those who pussied out of BF2 cuz' they couldn't take the heat were not missed at all, and i wouldn't WANT them on my team anyways.
If you make a mistake, You should die.
If you lone-Wolf, you deserve to fail
If you don't cooperate and use tactics, you deserve to fail.
If you camp protecting your KD you deserve to be raped.
If anything its the people who DO WANT arcadey game play who Suck. They aren't willing to put in the time to learn the maps, the vantage points, etc. They need garbage like 3-D Spotting and Kill cams cuz' they can't figure out where they're being shot from and lord knows they cant team up in game and cover each other's advances. They need regen because they don't use teamwork. I do not want these sort of Fucking retard Downies on my damn team.
You can call us lame, No-Lifers, Elitists, I don't care. The BF2 General's Club > 99% of bad company players. Why? Because we put in the Hours, the work, and the dedication to learn every tactic, every map, every play style, and how to counter it. All those Call of Duty arcade pub Scrubs can go / wrists, I won't Miss them at all. We never needed Kill cams or triangles to win games. We never needed Spawn protection on revives, or Regenerating health. Nor did we need nerfed vehicles.
All I got to say to the "New generation" of bf players is if you cant play like the vets I don't want to play with you. Take your Stat-Whoring, Gay ass Feature abusing, 3-D spotting, Lame asses back to fucking CoD and stay there.
"lower Threshold" garbage just means more Useless Players So i say make it even HARDER to "pick up" then BF2. It's kinda like if a university lowers its standards and starts accepting drop outs, the wont be producing more geniuses. Just turning through more people. easy come easy go

Cyber Bullying, Bogus Laws, and censorship
I've been seeing these stories pop up on TV and videos on the net. Law enforcement "cracking Down" on cyber bullying. Are you really freaking kidding me? I don't know what happened or when, But the people today seriously need to get a freaking back bone.
Everything today is a Disorder My god, get the fuck real. No your a whiney 2 bit fucking scrub who has to cry to everyone and try to push these stupid fucking laws because you weren't taught to deal with fucking reality. You don't have a Disorder and you don't have a disease. You simply have no fucking guts.
This brings me to another point; People trying to censor the piss out of everything, and worse, the Half-Ass parents who blame the media and the web for all their Kid's Problems. I started playing violent War games when i was only 9 years old, And I have NEVER had any desire or motivation to actually go kill people. Video games don't make people Violent. I also started watching graphic movies quite young, and again they had not lasting impact on me.
Parents; Teach your fucking kids how the world works and stop expecting everyone and everything else to do your fucking job. If your too fucking busy or too fucking lazy to Watch your kids, teach them some goddamn values, and know what they're dooing, then it is Entirely Your fault when they act out the thing they see in the media. It's your fault you never instilled a sense of self worth when they hang them selves based on what some person said about them. Facebook didn't kill your child, Neither did the bully who told him or her they should go hang them selves. YOU KILLED them by not teaching them to value them selves enough to not take every hair-brained twat's comments to heart.
Remember people You can change the fucking TV channel if you are offended by a movie. No one is making you use facebook. and no one forced you to buy or play that mother fucking video game. If you are so sensitive that you are going to fucking kill yourself based on something said online (or in person for that matter) Maybe you should so you don't raise even more spineless twatts. The internet does not need to be policed. The people whit Real, Genuine issues need proper help, and the rest of the people need to grow a fucking back bone.
STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR YOUR ACTIONS. STOP CENSORING THINGS THAT YOU CAN'T HANDLE. AND STOP BLAMING OTHERS FOR CORRUPTING CHILDREN WHO WERE NEVER TAUGHT RIGHT TO BEGIN WITH.

STUPID PEOPLE!!!
Let me give you the 4 Most valuable things You need to know to help your team since your too mentally deficient to figure them out for your self.
Rule 1: Use your friggen Kit.
All you assaults? Yeah you **** for brains! I actually DO need ammo some times. You get points for that you know.....
All you medics... That green box isn't so you can hid behind a rock an heal yourself, And those paddle like things... They're good for more then Killin the sniper who has taken your favorite Rock/Window
Rule 2: This is conquest not TDM use your friggen brain please.
That means All of you who keep running to (and dieing) in the Flag B meat grinder.. Go get A please. If the have 2 flags and us only one.. They WILL win a Meat-grinder battle. Go get the other one while they re all busy. All you gots' ta do is walk right in and sit in the back room till you get a free 150pts.
Rule 3: No Chewbacca. Now is not the time
We just lost our last flag.. That doesnt mean we need MORE snipers, It means we need less sniper and more flag Cappers.
Rule 4: When your team is loosing don't switch to the other (already stacked) team. If you do, well then i guess you really are a deficient stat HO who feels the need to bump up his or her W/L so the can brag about it online because you have no ****ing life. Yeah.. i went there.

Review Of Mafia II
Aliena's Review of Mafia II (PC Version)
A fun Experience tainted by Bugs and Short-commings.
The Good:
The story it's self Is good In my opinion. It presents the Mafia Life in a much more Believable way then the often Over-Done romanticized point of view we see in movies. You get a good feel for the characters and on some level connect with them. The game is designed in a way that gives you A lot of freedom, and a very large area to explore and enjoy. The Missions make sense and are also Believable.
The Bad:
Fairly quickly you get this feeling that a lot of content was cut from the game, And, Upon closer examination, you get further confirmation of this. The game is Single-Player only, And I really had hoped for a Longer story. Mafia II really missed the mark here in my honest opinion. It is Possible to Free-Roam the city, which Adds some replay value, But again the game falls short. Beyond sticking up the same mundane shops for a small payout, you find theres not much to do. With bruski and Dereck still around you can bring cars to them for money, But again I feel they missed the mark here. If they could have these colorful characters continue to give you random "jobs" When you visit them it would have added a lot of replay value.
Summary:
Mafia II Brings a lot of fun to the table, But really lacks in staying power. Once you've done it once, you've done it all. There's just nothing to do once you run through the story once, Finding the Playboys and Wanted posters is a real chore and feels very irrelevant. (IE Achievement Grinding). Mafia II is a great Game that Lost out on what it "could have been".
RATING:
Over-All: 6/10
Presentation: 8/10
Story: 8/10
Features: 3/10
Replay Value: 3/10

How to Balance Weapons in FPS
Is it completely Lost on developers these days? These concepts have been around for ages, and many of the things im about to go on over have been used (successfully) as early as the 90's yet in todays world Game designers seem completely clueless.
Not Every Gun has to be the Same. No one gun has to be the "best"
Sounds simple right? Well aparently the people at DICE, EA, Activision, etc find this an entirely forighen fucking concept. Why are people trying to balance LMGs against Pistols and Sub Machine guns? How the fuck does this make sense? Should LMGs not be balanced against other LMGs? Should they not be implemented in a way that puts them in their proper role as a support weapon? Worse yet, Game designers seem to think if one gun is effective when used a certain way the must either A. weaken the thing to the point it becomes entirely marginalized OR worse still, they Boost another weapon to completely godly capabilities to counter it.
How to Do it Right;
As I said before, Each category of weapons should be done in such a way that it mirrors it's actual purpose. The best way to do this is via Spread, Recoil, and Weight.
1. LMGs should be Heavy, slow in handling and work best from a fixed defensive position. The design concept of LMGs is that they are intended to put SUPRESSIVE fire on a position alowing other troops to maneuver against that position. On the move they should be quite Inaccurate, and slow to aim compared to other weapons.
2. Assault Rifles are the general Issue front line weapon. They should be highly versatile, Effective even on the move, This should be the "go-To weapon"
3. Submachine Guns are designed with CQB and extreme CQB in mind. What they lack in accuracy they should make up for in Very fast handling, And Imense fire rate. Along with Shotguns, they should dominate the CQB area of combat, But be largely marginal at Medium range and beyond.
4. Sniper Rifles should be the Most accurate and most powerful, but slowest handling weapons. They should suffer imenseley in CQB. Heavy rifles such as the .50 and the KSVK should be extremely heavy in-game and relegated to extreme long range use.
This is all really simple stuff. How do you make a big heavy instant Kill sniper cannon Balanced? By making it big, heavy, and unweildy so that it is confined to a certain role in order to be effective. We do not need SUper Armor, We do not need Nerf guns, and we do not need to give our characters more health. We need only design weapons in a way so that no one weapon can be "beast" in every single friggen area. this is not hard people.

EAUK Sucks
Yeah.. there, I said it.
The Mods are Nazis, The bulk of the posters are newbies who have no clue wtf they are talking about. If you like the Old BF games your a fanboy, if you like the new ones your a "cod idiot". there is no reasoning with these morons.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on Xbox 360
I've been playing this game on the PC for a while now, And i always thought the randoms were very bad. They have no sense of teamwork, the cant spot a damn thing, and forget about anyone watching your fucking back...
Then I got on Xbox, and My god do these idiots bring a whole new level of stupidity to light. I swear it truly scares me that people this god damn stupid exist. How many Times i capture all flags only for them to be captured behind me as my moronic teammates stare on like fucking rocks. Just give me a freaking break..
But its not all bad... Its been great playing with the H8R's and some of the forum guys.

Thoughts on a Simplified Battlefield 3
I know alot of this stuff has been discussed before, But i wanted to get this all down in one place. If you have the attention span of a 5yr old, see the TL;DR at the end of this post.
First off, "Soo who am I to be Talking about Game design and such"
Well, I started playing FPS when i was only 9 (I believe my very first was Soldier Of fortune). within a few years i had moved into the "competitive" side Playing my games seriously, Running with clans, Specializing in certain skills, etc. By the time I was 15 I had started doing map-Making and modding; Which i continue to this day... Tho i am now much more advanced at it using scripts, arrays, etc. I have a good understanding of What makes FPS game modes work, and how they target specific audiences.
Now, In the Market we have 2 Real Categories, Tho some games take elements from both- On the arcade end we have games like COD: Modern warfare, Counter strike, etc. These games focus on Fast-Paced Action. Smaller numbers of players in a relatively confined area with powerful weapons. This results in a High amount of intensity in MP Game play.
Game mechanics are fairly simplistic here, and focus more on the individual. This kind of game appeal to a larger audience who "Just want to get to the good part". (think of an action movie- some people like a great story line in it, other just want to see sh** blow up the entire time and don't care about the story at all)
On the other end we have Games like ArmA and Op Flash, The Serious, ultra realistic, tactical Simulation style games. They often are complex and feature rich. They focus on larger scale maneuvers with a larger number of players, but actual combat action is sporadic. Game play focuses instead on Smart use of resources, Tactical planning, and good coordination to execute a successful attack or defense. This type of game appeals to a smaller "niche" audience, where the community takes the game extremely seriously and often play as tho it were real life.
The Problem is.. there's a lot of people who like elements of both sides. And that's where games Like Battlefield 2 come in. (im using BF2 here as i personally feel its the best representation of the features and capabilities of the series) BF2 Takes a Larger number of players then most arcade shooters and gives them a fairly big map. This allows for more consistent action then a arma style game, But still gives ample room for strategic play. The smart (or no so smart) use of vehicles and assets can make all the difference. The game has a lot of nice features that encourage Squad and Team level cooperation, But also is designed in such a way that you are not FORCED to play a certain way. Features like squad leaders and team commander help to promote an organized game play environment.
Okay so now you all know where im coming from-
My main concern is this; One of the best things about BF IMHO is that it perfectly balances Realistic strategic play, with Arcade Action and somewhat balanced weapons/kits. I personally feel that the move BF has been taking ever since BFBC1 in "simplifying" the experiences is messing with that careful balance. They are slowly moving it more and more towards simplistic arcade shooter; and IMHO that is not was Battlefield is about. Now some may say that giving things like the artillery gun (a la BFBC1) to anyone who gets on it first, or the UAV (BFBC2) includes more people.. That may be true, But think about this.. How is that beneficial to the TEAM? The ability to elect a competent commander who can use the resources best to Benefit an over-all team effort is vital in my opinion. It brings to the table a whole tactical layer of game play. Having to re-supply your troops, Provide reconnaissance, etc.
We now see people going around shooting at over-head dots, Assaults infinitely re-supplying thier own n00b tube, Medics with the ability to mow down an entire squad, And gun fights & vehicle engagements often depend on who has what Perks/Specs enabled then actual skills. Features Like "motion sensors" and Kill cams are counter productive to strategic play (one guy in a flanking squad kills someone and he can tell everyone what they're doing and where they are!)
AS PROMISED TL;dr
In conclusion my opinion is that the Exclusion of features like designated Squad leaders, Team commanders, And more (and more specialized) Kits
in combination with the ADDITION of arcade features like 3d spotting and Kill cams, and Perks are all working to undermine Tactical and team oriented play.
